Learn How to Fix Your Windows 10 Touchscreen Not Working Issue
Fix Your Windows 10 Touchscreen Not Working Issue: Windows 10 is ideal for touch screens. In particular, thanks to the specially designed touch application in the Windows Ink workspace. But in case the touch screen doesn’t work? Here’s how to fix the touch screen in Windows 10. Because at times, it can break for no apparent reason.
Most of the problems are due to driver incompatibilities. This is even more likely if the touch screen fails when upgrading from the previous operating system to Windows 10. This will be covered along with many other troubleshooting tips.
Windows Troubleshooting Tools may be able to fix touch screen issues quickly and easily.
Search the system for troubleshooting and select the relevant results. In the new window, click Show All from the menu on the left. From the list that appears, click Material and Devices.
Click Next to run the guide. The tool automatically detects and fixes the problem. However, this is not comprehensive and you may need to continue reading.
Disable and Re-enable the Touchscreen
The direct solution of restarting the entire computer is just the first step, but by turning off the touch screen and turning it on again may also help.
Press CTRL + X and select [Device Manager]. Double-click on the human interface to open the drop-down menu. Right-click on the list of touch screens compatible with HID and select Disable. You will be asked to confirm this, so click Yes.
You need to right-click on the list again, but this time select Enable. This is one of the simplest solutions, but it doesn’t always work. In fact, restarting the system may not solve the problem at all.

Set the touch screen
If your touch screen responds slowly or if you incorrectly enter touch gestures, you can only speed things up with an update. To perform a touch screen calibration:
Search for “Configure” in the system and select “Screen Configure for Pen or Touch.” A new window will open with your tablet PC settings.
On the View tab, use the Settings button and the Settings button to see if the problem goes away.
Change power management settings
Windows 10 tries to regain the power, but sometimes the settings are too enthusiastic to turn off the touch screen after certain activities. The touch screen should turn on automatically when it detects the input, but this is not always the case. So you can turn off the power saving on the touch screen and see if the problem goes away.
First, press the Windows + X key and click [Device Manager]. Then double-click on the human interface device, and then double-click the list of HID-compatible touch screens.
A new window will open. Go to the Energy Management tab. Turn it off to allow the computer to turn off the device to save energy. Click OK and restart the system.
Rollback the driver
In Windows 10, hardware drivers are also updated by Windows Update. Unfortunately, not all versions of drivers are the same. If the driver actually causes the problem, try resetting the default settings.
Again, in Device Manager, right-click on the HID-compatible touch screen and select Properties. Then go to the [Guide] tab and select [Restore Guide].
You may know that there are some older versions of driver programs that work but cannot be retrieved. On the Driver Program tab, select Replacement, and then follow the method as you see.
Windows 10 has automatic updates and the system can continue to push the latest drivers to users. This can be the cause of the problem. See our guide on how to restore control of the driver update for details on how to deal with this issue.
Update the driver
A driver is software that supports hardware. For example, a touch screen communicates with a computer processor. Therefore, the touch screen malfunction may be due to a faulty driver.
Follow the steps above, open Device Manager, right-click on the HID-compatible touch screen and select Update Software Driver.
You should automatically search for updated driver software. This scans Microsoft’s database for available updates on touch devices. Run the driver if necessary and restart to see if the problem is resolved.
If not, go directly to the manufacturer’s website, search for the driver’s page, select the device number, and download the latest driver.
After downloading this driver, you may be able to unzip it and install it automatically. However, you can select the Update Software Update option again, but this time click My Computer for Software Software Search. Search using “Browse …” and follow the instructions in the guide.
Uninstall recent programs
For some reason, some programs cause touch screen problems. If the touch screen only recently broke, you will need to uninstall recently added programs.
To do this, press Windows key + I to open Settings. Click Apps. Use the Sort by dropdown and select Installation date.
Find the date of occurrence of the touch screen problem. When you’re ready, click on each app in turn to uninstall it. Restart your computer each time to see if the touch screen is stable.
Move to another place
This sounds strange, but be patient. Other nearby electronic devices may affect the touch screen. The cause may be something connected to the same power bank. Or, it could happen if there are too many computers nearby.
However, this is easy to diagnose. Take the touch screen device to another location and try it. If it works, it is due to electromagnetic interference.
To resolve, return to the original room and disable all other features. Then turn them back one by one to determine the cause of the problem. If you do not seem to have a problem, check the nearby areas for powerful equipment that may be causing the problem
Contact the expert
In case you have tried all these tips, but the touch screen is still broken? In this case, you will need to contact the system expert.
The problem is probably a hardware failure, not a system, and they need to fix it for you.
We hope that the above tips have solved the problem with the touch screen.
